Little is known of his past. Long ago, he trained as a samurai in Japan; later, he became Weapon X, an operative for the Canadian governmen. Today, Logan is an X-Man-using his animal-keen senses, healing factor and razor-sharp claws to help protect a world that fears and hates mutants! Wolverine's senses enable him to track people and objets with an impressive degree of success. His accelerated healing factor allows him to survine wounds that would prove fatal to most humans and mutants. Wolverine's skeleton has been bonded with the indestructible metal Adamantium. Also, he possesses Adamantium-laced, retractable claws housed in his forearms. At will, he can release them through the skin on the back of each hand.

Surprisingly good.First impression when I read in ToyFare that Wolverine will make (yet) another appearance in a toy line affliated to Marvel: "Not again!" We already have the Marvel Legends Wolverines (three variants), the X-Men Classics Wolverine and the Marvel Select Wolverines (two versions), all in the space of about 18 months. And I haven't even count in the movie figures! Do we really need another Wolverine? Judging by the number of Wolverines on the pegs of toy stores, I guess not.
Still, I decided to pick this Wolvie up, just for the sake that he's in what I believe to be his most attractive costume. And, after playing with him for a while, I came to a conclusion that he's actually quite good. In fact, he's quite possibly the best Wolverine of the lot.
With so many Wolverines in my collection, what more can I say about him? Well, let's talk about the sculpt. The sculpt work, for one, is really good. True, his articulation points do affect his appearance, but because he's such a stocky fella, you won't really be bothered with it. His muscles are toned down, and the veins that pop out on his arms are more subtle than Juggernaut in the same assortment. His face sculpt is also dead on. While I like both the facial expressions on the Series III and the Tiger Stripe versions of the character, this version seems to have capture the spirit of Wolvie in an uncanny (pardon the pun!) fashion as well. Of course, this Wolverine, like the Tiger Stripe one, is also in-scale with the rest of the X-Men figures, which obviously increases realism when you display the lot of them together.
His claws are also re-sculpted to look more accurate. Previous incarnations of the character have claws that don't exactly look like clwas, but metal poles that're attached on his fists. This time round, Toy Biz made sure that Wolverine have claws. Of course, the silly warping on his claws is still a problem, even with the included "claws protectors". Other than this, the sculpt is as good as it can get.
Next, paint work. I lamented about the poor finishes on the earlier Wolverines, and the same problem comes haunting me again on this. To be fair, the overall apps are ok, but I've always been one who places a lot of emphasis on a figure's face. And sadly, this Wolverine's face wasn't very well painted. You should see the shoddy splashes that didn't fit into place in the above picture, and also the part that seems to look like a paint chip. It's not a paint chip, for your information. It simply wasn't painted at all. For all the technology in developing sculpts that balance aesthetics and articulation, Toy Biz have consistently underperformed in this area, which is quite frustrating to say the least. Perhaps, some corners do have to be cut to give us the figures at this affordable price point.
The Series III Wolverine has 32 points of articulation, and I was already going ga-ga over it. This latest version boasts 39 points, so imagine my joy! Apart from more movemens, the joints are also less restrictive, making the posing process very much smoother. The hinge shoulders, in particular, provide a lot more arms movement than the earlier Wolvie. His leg joints are quite weak though, and at times couldn't support a more dynamic pose. Like, having his knees bended, for example. But nothing a good old bottle of nail polish can't do.
Accessories wise, the usual comic book is included, and there's nothing really special about it. Apart from this, Wolverine also has a base, which looks suspiciously like a remold from the one that came with Elektra. On the base sat Wolverine's Sensei, but he's basically just it, sitting there. His sword is removable, which probably gives Wolverine an additional weapon to wave around. But with his claws already in tact, the sword doesn't really do very much to the overall playability.
So really, what more can I say about Wolverine, except that he's brilliant? He could have easily score a perfect 10, if not for the rather warped claws and shoddy paint apps. This toy is highly recommended, but what does Toy Biz do to reward themselves? A Weapon X Wolverine in the next assortment! Duh!
Finally an awesome Wolverine! When I heard the lineup for marvel legends 6, I thought "Oh no! Not another Wolverine!" Then I heard it would be his classic brown costume. It seemed interesting, but I assumed it would be a repaint of the marvel legends 3 wolverine. Fortunately, I was proven wrong. This is an all new sculpt! There are 36 points of articulation(I think)! What the previous Wolverine lacked, this one makes up for. Now Toybiz is paying more attention to scale, so Wolverine is hunched over just like he should be. He has an appropriate snarl on his face. If you look closely, you can even see the tiny bits of stubble on his face! He has a base, which is basically a repaint of the Elektra base, only this time there is a small Ogun figure sitting on it. He has a sword in his hands. This sword can be removed and it loosely fits into Wolverine's left hand. Wolverine also comes with an Uncanny X-Men comic book. # 213, I beleive. Even though this issue features a fight between brown Wolverine and Sabretooth, it probably would have gone better with a Psylocke toy. This is an excellent action figure, but there is one slight downside: the claws. When you open it, they are very messed up, as they are made of very soft plastic. You could try making metal ones, but there is an easier way. What I do is whenever I want to use it, I just sculpt the claws myself by pulling them into whatever position I want. It works because the plastic is so soft, and yes, it's only temporary, but it should last 20 minutes to an hour while you use it. Then the next time you use it, do the same thing. I don't know. Maybe it only works for my figure in particular. Either way, this is the best Wolverine I've ever seen(and beleive me, that's saying something). This is an excellent figure, and I highly reccomend it.
Finally a Wolverine worth raving aboutThis by far is the best created wolverine of the Marvel legends ToyBiz collection. In that case any toyline production of wolverine. He is a more accurate scale in comparison to other marvel legend figures. The only thing I think they should have done was make him a little more bulkier adding more mass to his arms. The facial details are also very accurate. Thanks toy biz for bringing out the best wolverine 3D version action figure I have ever encountered.
My first Marvel Legend. Brown Wolive. This Wolverine is in his classic brown costume unlike the other blue and yellow ones that have been released. I don't own the other wolverine's but I heard that this one was more to scale which is great. Expect the usual amount of articulation that comes with Marvel Legend toys of this size. The stand holds a removable sword that fits in Wolverine's left hand. My only gripe is that i know the joints will get loose, one shoulder hinge i think is the same as the other..werid, and that his left shin swivel area is looser than it should be. (...)
