Weak in terms of proportion, Not impressive as a figure
This Wolverine is a dead on with the current costume in the comics.I just have problem with its proportion: Body is too small,Its feet is too flat. Its like Wolverine on a girly diet.I have the unmasked version because I like the head sculpt....so what I did was to customise it with the body of the old Tiger stripe Wolverine from the X-men line, and put some steel claws and the result was an awesome Unmasked Wolverine version.
A great likeness, but a tiny figure
Yes, it seems to be a recurring theme in the reviews for this figure, but it's a correct assessment: the Astonishing X-Men costumed Wolverine figure is tiny. Darn tiny. From a collectability standpoint, it would be dwarfed by the other Marvel Legends Wolverine figures, and thus look very out of place set among its counterparts, almost as if it were from another line of Marvel figures. Granted, Wolverine the character is supposed to be shorter than average, but the figure isn't just shorter than the other Apocalypse series figures, he's proportionately smaller. Take his X-Men teammate Bishop, another figure in this series. Bishop the comics character is taller than Wolverine the comics character, but not much larger in terms of musculature. Bishop the Marvel Legends figure is not only taller, but significantly more muscular than the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine, so much so that the Bishop figure makes the Wolverine figure look like a lanky high school track star compared to a professional bodybuilder. Then again, all the Apocalypse series figures are out of proportion with at least one if not more of the other figures in the series. Iron Fist, who is supposed to have the slim yet defined build of an intensely trained martial artist, somehow manages to have a thicker build as a figure than the Wolverine figure. The Bishop figure comes up to the chest of the Sasquatch figure, making Bishop's guns nearly proportionate to be normal-sized weapons for Sasquatch, which would translate to cannon-sized guns for the colossal beast. The Maestro figure, a character who is a future version of the Hulk, is suitably overmuscled, but is somehow just barely taller than the supposedly human-sized Bishop, and that only with the "crown" that the Maestro comes with.

But issues of size aside....the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine figure looks GOOD. I have no qualms with saying that it is the best likeness of Wolverine to come out of Marvel Legends yet. The claws are a perfect size and thickness, the facial expression is menacing without being too overdone, and the costume details are a perfect rendering of artist John Cassaday's design.

I haven't had the issue of loose figure joints that others report--if anything, I've had many issues with stiff, almost immovable joints, with this Wolverine figure and the other Apocalypse series figures. I've had to take an extra-thin-bladed X-Acto knife and work it between some of the worst of the figures' "sticky" joints to render the figures poseable. If you encounter sticky joints, a warning: be very careful when trying to work them loose. I nearly tore the elbow piece on a Sasquatch figure in half trying to get the forearm to move. Try the X-Acto knife method (very small blade, just enough force to "shave" a little space in between the pieces of the joint. I've also had vegetable oil or cooking spray (in very small amounts) recommended to me by other collectors as a lubricant--just don't, for Heaven's sake, use something petroleum-based like WD-40, which is almost certain to discolor and possibly remove the paint on the figure, and might damage the plastic as well.

Looking at the figure from a playability perspective--I doubt that the size discrepancy between figures would matter to a child who just wants a cool Wolverine figure (I recall my childhood as a place where huge Transformers, oversized Masters of the Universe and more diminutive G.I. Joe and Star Wars figures co-existed with each other happily). And this IS a cool Wolverine figure--even those unfamiliar with the Astonishing X-Men comics can look at this figure and simply determine it to be an excellent-looking toy. The issues with the joints could take away a lot from the fun factor--if you purchase the figure for a child, it not be a bad idea to crack open the package first, check the figure for any problems, deal with them, and give the child the loose figure, especially if you're not planning to acquire the entire Apocalypse Build-A-Figure.

Ah, yes--the reason for the "Apocalypse series" name. This figure comes with the left leg piece of a larger Apocalypse figure that you can build by acquiring all the figures in this series. If you or the person you're buying this for are not interested in the Build-A-Figure, the leg piece can be sold on eBay to collectors who want the Apocalypse figure but don't want the smaller figures. (Or alternately, if Wolverine and the big Apocalypse are all you want, you could try for the other Apocalypse pieces on eBay.)
Deffinatly a ML worthy Wolverine
Mine has the loose waist too, but its not that much of an issue, it will stay how it's posed. I snagged the Unmasked version, but am going back for the regular one as well. he is a little small, but in good proportion to other ML figures, especially like Sasquach and Maestro Hulk (from the same series), and Omega Red from Series X, whom I have him grappling with.
It is still a great Wolverine, though I agree that the four-letter words in the comic book are a bit unnecessary.
Plus Apocalypse looks fatastic, though his knee and ankle joints are a little weak.
Berserker Rage!
I just bought this wolverine action figure & to be honest this was my first wolverine toy in my life & to me its really cool! specially the claws you can widen them by putting your fingers in the middle of the claws so that they would look more of kinda extreme! The action figure give 30 to 32 POA ,like other wolverine owners they all complain about the waist. well quess what! I have an idea in fixing it! in fact I've already done it to my figure just us mighty bond (or any super glue ,preferable locktite or quicktite) put one or two drops ONLY in each side of the waist of the figure. just be care full that it won't be messy & after you've done that try moving the waist of the figure left & right then try a 360 degrees & you have you're wolverine fixed & ready for some kick ASS!
How Many Wolverines Does One Need?
While the Astonishing X-Men Wolverine outfit is cool, it didn't demand a figure when there are so many other characters who are figure-worthy. It's a good figure - the main beef is that he's smaller. Wolverine should be short and stocky, but this figure is simply reduced in size. Don't believe me? Just compare the size of his cloned daughter, X-23, to Wolverine. They're the same height and her head is bigger. Usually this series respects proportionate sizes but in this case the wolverine looks too petite.

He is the best he is at what he does, and what he does isn't very pretty. This Marvel Legends figure captures the berserker fury of the Byrne/Claremont era Wolverine. This is the coolest wolverine toy in town.
We got this toy and it is awesome. very detailed and articulate. its just fun to play with.
Pretty good!
I recently bought Wolverine. It is actually quite good though I reckon the claws could of been sturdier (they get bent in odd positions) and the paint job could of been better on the eyes. I prefer them white like the comics. Apart from those minor faults the action figure is nicely sculpted and being a Marvel Legends figure it has very good articulation. I have to give you credit for this one Toy Biz.
No interest in the child's value
I'm not interested at all in playing with toys. I've just been a huge fan of Wolverine for the last 12 years and this is the sharpest, most evil looking Wolverine mini statue I've ever come across. My respect to toy biz, this is something i'd expect from Todd Mcfarlane's toy sculptoring, cuz he makes twisted looking figurines.
Awesome figure except the claws aren't very well done.
I love this figure except his claws tend to get bent into odd postions. They should have made them tougher or made one solid piece. I still also think they should have had white eyeslike the comic version does. Great articulation. Recommended.
NO LEGEND, THAT'S FOR SURE!
I just got my Marvel Legends Wolverine today... Boy was I let down. This just wasn't a very accurate representation of the character. First off, he's way to big. Wolverine was always short in the comics, so you can imagine my surprise when he was as tall as some of the larger Marvel Legends figures I own. I'd have to say that this figure falls short on many levels, but still it's a pretty good figure. If you just gotta have a Wolvie now, than this will do as a light snack. The main course can be found in the TBR X-Men Classics line. Finally, the Wolverine we've all been waiting on! Personally, I can't wait for the Archangel, but that's just 'cause I grew up on Jim Lee's X-Men. (I don't even want to know what happened to Archangel nowadays. Maybe he lost his powers and is sobbing in a cave, or even dead?) Hope this helped you out, true believers!

Marvel Legends Series 6 Wolverine in Brown Custome Action Figure

Toy from Toy Biz
Little is known of his past. Long ago, he trained as a samurai in Japan; later, he became Weapon X, an operative for the Canadian governmen. Today, Logan is an X-Man-using his animal-keen senses, healing factor and razor-sharp claws to help protect a world that fears and hates mutants! Wolverine's senses enable him to track people and objets with an impressive degree of success. His accelerated healing factor allows him to survine wounds that would prove fatal to most humans and mutants. Wolverine's skeleton has been bonded with the indestructible metal Adamantium. Also, he possesses Adamantium-laced, retractable claws housed in his forearms. At will, he can release them through the skin on the back of each hand.

Surprisingly good.
First impression when I read in ToyFare that Wolverine will make (yet) another appearance in a toy line affliated to Marvel: "Not again!" We already have the Marvel Legends Wolverines (three variants), the X-Men Classics Wolverine and the Marvel Select Wolverines (two versions), all in the space of about 18 months. And I haven't even count in the movie figures! Do we really need another Wolverine? Judging by the number of Wolverines on the pegs of toy stores, I guess not.

Still, I decided to pick this Wolvie up, just for the sake that he's in what I believe to be his most attractive costume. And, after playing with him for a while, I came to a conclusion that he's actually quite good. In fact, he's quite possibly the best Wolverine of the lot.

With so many Wolverines in my collection, what more can I say about him? Well, let's talk about the sculpt. The sculpt work, for one, is really good. True, his articulation points do affect his appearance, but because he's such a stocky fella, you won't really be bothered with it. His muscles are toned down, and the veins that pop out on his arms are more subtle than Juggernaut in the same assortment. His face sculpt is also dead on. While I like both the facial expressions on the Series III and the Tiger Stripe versions of the character, this version seems to have capture the spirit of Wolvie in an uncanny (pardon the pun!) fashion as well. Of course, this Wolverine, like the Tiger Stripe one, is also in-scale with the rest of the X-Men figures, which obviously increases realism when you display the lot of them together.

His claws are also re-sculpted to look more accurate. Previous incarnations of the character have claws that don't exactly look like clwas, but metal poles that're attached on his fists. This time round, Toy Biz made sure that Wolverine have claws. Of course, the silly warping on his claws is still a problem, even with the included "claws protectors". Other than this, the sculpt is as good as it can get.

Next, paint work. I lamented about the poor finishes on the earlier Wolverines, and the same problem comes haunting me again on this. To be fair, the overall apps are ok, but I've always been one who places a lot of emphasis on a figure's face. And sadly, this Wolverine's face wasn't very well painted. You should see the shoddy splashes that didn't fit into place in the above picture, and also the part that seems to look like a paint chip. It's not a paint chip, for your information. It simply wasn't painted at all. For all the technology in developing sculpts that balance aesthetics and articulation, Toy Biz have consistently underperformed in this area, which is quite frustrating to say the least. Perhaps, some corners do have to be cut to give us the figures at this affordable price point.

The Series III Wolverine has 32 points of articulation, and I was already going ga-ga over it. This latest version boasts 39 points, so imagine my joy! Apart from more movemens, the joints are also less restrictive, making the posing process very much smoother. The hinge shoulders, in particular, provide a lot more arms movement than the earlier Wolvie. His leg joints are quite weak though, and at times couldn't support a more dynamic pose. Like, having his knees bended, for example. But nothing a good old bottle of nail polish can't do.

Accessories wise, the usual comic book is included, and there's nothing really special about it. Apart from this, Wolverine also has a base, which looks suspiciously like a remold from the one that came with Elektra. On the base sat Wolverine's Sensei, but he's basically just it, sitting there. His sword is removable, which probably gives Wolverine an additional weapon to wave around. But with his claws already in tact, the sword doesn't really do very much to the overall playability.

So really, what more can I say about Wolverine, except that he's brilliant? He could have easily score a perfect 10, if not for the rather warped claws and shoddy paint apps. This toy is highly recommended, but what does Toy Biz do to reward themselves? A Weapon X Wolverine in the next assortment! Duh!
Finally an awesome Wolverine!
When I heard the lineup for marvel legends 6, I thought "Oh no! Not another Wolverine!" Then I heard it would be his classic brown costume. It seemed interesting, but I assumed it would be a repaint of the marvel legends 3 wolverine. Fortunately, I was proven wrong. This is an all new sculpt! There are 36 points of articulation(I think)! What the previous Wolverine lacked, this one makes up for. Now Toybiz is paying more attention to scale, so Wolverine is hunched over just like he should be. He has an appropriate snarl on his face. If you look closely, you can even see the tiny bits of stubble on his face! He has a base, which is basically a repaint of the Elektra base, only this time there is a small Ogun figure sitting on it. He has a sword in his hands. This sword can be removed and it loosely fits into Wolverine's left hand. Wolverine also comes with an Uncanny X-Men comic book. # 213, I beleive. Even though this issue features a fight between brown Wolverine and Sabretooth, it probably would have gone better with a Psylocke toy. This is an excellent action figure, but there is one slight downside: the claws. When you open it, they are very messed up, as they are made of very soft plastic. You could try making metal ones, but there is an easier way. What I do is whenever I want to use it, I just sculpt the claws myself by pulling them into whatever position I want. It works because the plastic is so soft, and yes, it's only temporary, but it should last 20 minutes to an hour while you use it. Then the next time you use it, do the same thing. I don't know. Maybe it only works for my figure in particular. Either way, this is the best Wolverine I've ever seen(and beleive me, that's saying something). This is an excellent figure, and I highly reccomend it.
Finally a Wolverine worth raving about
This by far is the best created wolverine of the Marvel legends ToyBiz collection. In that case any toyline production of wolverine. He is a more accurate scale in comparison to other marvel legend figures. The only thing I think they should have done was make him a little more bulkier adding more mass to his arms. The facial details are also very accurate. Thanks toy biz for bringing out the best wolverine 3D version action figure I have ever encountered.
My first Marvel Legend. Brown Wolive.
This Wolverine is in his classic brown costume unlike the other blue and yellow ones that have been released. I don't own the other wolverine's but I heard that this one was more to scale which is great. Expect the usual amount of articulation that comes with Marvel Legend toys of this size. The stand holds a removable sword that fits in Wolverine's left hand. My only gripe is that i know the joints will get loose, one shoulder hinge i think is the same as the other..werid, and that his left shin swivel area is looser than it should be. (...)

Definitely worth buying
This worlverine figure is awsome! It can pose a lot of different ways and it looks really cool. the downside of this figure is that the claws bend and could break off easily. Besides that it's definitly buying.
Black Wolverine /RED HULK
The item was needed to complete the red hulk .My son seem to like the item the reason I picked it because I never saw a black wolverine it was different.Because of it color it is not something that everyone has.
Right on Point with this figure
Looks just like Wolverine in the New X-Force comic book! Great job with the size scale compared to the other characters...not like Hugh Jackman, who's not 5'3" 300 lbs. (he does an OK job though!). Paint work is good, but the claws are to mandible...but worth the purchase.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Posted by admin Aug 01, 5444COMMENTS

For the followers of this series, from X-Men Legends to 2006?s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, many things have remained unchanged.

Bad if you are up for a challenge.

Action wise, gamers select four Marvel Comics? characters to form a team and, at any one time, toggle between the four to play as any one of them. If a fire needs to be doused, Iceman is in control. Should a cannon fire at you from a distance, use Iron Man?s repulsor blasts to annihilate it.

A new element is the use of fusion powers: Two characters can form their own Wonder Twins moment, combining their talent to form a more powerful attack.

Think Captain America using his shield to deflect blasts from Ms Marvel, or Wolverine and Iron Fist joining hands to pummel a foe and you get an idea of how potent this Marvel team-up can be.

Given the 25 playable characters to choose from, there are hundreds of fusion combos to uncover. However, the more you play, the more you realise that the combos are variants of the same thing. Since Thor shoots out lightning, his combo with Captain America is the same deflection that Captain America uses with Ms Marvel.

Shonbot answers: Nothing, the series 6 was a re-issue of the series 3, both of the figures are exactly the same it's just the packaging that is a little different. The original series 3 fig had a mask on, and the original series 6 fig was the brown suit and had a different stand.
