...Thor: more than just a comicbook-based film
(Based on the comic book company’s eponymous comic-book) continues to top the box office with a total gross of $65,723,338 this Spring it is clear that the film itself is just a small portion of the Thor-mania that is part and parcel of the company’s product rollout. Supporting the film is the requisite amounts of tie-ins to the film that help not only spread awareness of the brand, but provide cool “extras” to fans. To be sure, there are all the regular toys, T-shirts, and the like, but with comicbook movies, you often get more. Naturally enough, Marvel Comics publishes (several) Thor comics chronicling his various adventures.
As with many other films of this type ( Iron Man 2 (who is slated to star in his own film in June).
