Not the best or worst
Pretty good or ok. Colour is a little off. Looks like a low budget paint was used (horrible mustard gold). Good movement. Bad (or wonky) legs. Could have used orthotics when this iron man was growing up. One knee knocks inwards. From the waist up it's good... but the face should've had the jaw in yellow, not in red. Have the comic, it matches the cover, not the multiple drawings inside. In short, get a different (more modern) iron man. There are plenty. Cheers.

An overall review of the Spider-Man Visionaries series
This review covers all 3 volumes of SPIDER-MAN VISIONARIES: TODD MCFARLANE, in order to let potential purchasers know what they're in for. These books collect issues 298 - 323, 325, 328, and Annual #10 of The Amazing Spider-Man. First off, in the past, I have voiced my disdain for Marvel's issuing "Visionaries" based solely on an artist rather than writer or writer/artist, and this is one of the prime examples. I think Marvel did writer David Michelinie a real disservice by listing McFarlane as the visionary. Sure, Todd was the hot artist at the time, but Michelinie crafted some fun scripts that really exploited Todd's artistic style and served as a almost 30-issue primer of most of Spidey's classic villains. No matter how good the art is, you need a worthwhile writer to back it up. In these issues, the writing is very involving, for the most part, and quite funny at times. It would be more appropriate to list both of these guys as the visionaries, as they both made the series...
Some of the better Spiderman stuff out there
McFarlane's work on Amazing Spiderman was well-received by fans when these comic came out. He updated the visual tricks you could use in a Spiderman story, with funky webbing and a more dynamic page structure. Now, ten years later, these techniques still stand up well, though the work looks a little dated. But these are fun stories, and well worth the money.
Pretty fun book
This is a compilation of Todd McFarlane's early works for Spiderman. Although his distinctive style is already pretty evident here, there's still something innocent and naive with the way he portrays he characters, unlike the tormented figures you see in Spawn and McFarlane Toys. As a collection, it's a hodge-podge, there's no clear story arc and time hasn't been kind to David Michelinie's writing style (unlike Frank Miller -- his early Daredevil work still packs a punch and is still fresh even if it was done 20 years ago). It's a basically a collection of stand-alone stories from the first appearance of Venom to guestings by second stringers like Silver Sable, Power Man and Iron Fist and the Prowler. I would like to make a special mention of that minor Marvel character. I don't know if the Prowler is McFarlane's idea but the way he drew him back then, it seems he was already doing the prototype for Spawn. From the cape to the design of the mask to the African American alter-ego, the...

Pretty Fun, but Gets Repetitive Quickly
I wasn't a beta tester, and I'm not a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) expert. When I play a game, it comes down to how much fun I had playing. The graphics, the music, the controls are all a part of that, but ultimately, it comes down to the experience. In the case of DCU Online, it becomes very repetitive very quickly. Nearly every mission is "beat up generic bad guys before beating up iconic bad guys." This isn't necessarily a bad thing if the fighting is fun (which it is, at first). But even with the unlocked skill sets that allow for more complex combos and flashier moves, the lack of variety in the fights eventually takes a toll, and it becomes a chore. Also, while the interface is usable but clunky, my main gripe is that it makes it difficult to team up with other players. The reason I choose to play MMORPGs to begin with is because I enjoy playing with others (or seeing others run around when I want to go solo: it makes the...
Literally one of the best MMORPG's I've ever played in my life. Action, Adventure, Story, this game has it all. A+++!!!
I have dreamed of something like this game all my life. Going back to the day when I'd play the Marvel board game (Like D&D but with Marvel.), and we'd make up DC character sheets to go with it. LOL Some video games have come close to capturing the magic of the DC Universe, but most allowed you to take control of and BE Batman and Superman, etc... This game, instead, allows you to make your OWN hero, and then fight alongside with and work with all your favorite DC heroes and heroines or villains. And it's not just the action which is good. And it IS good. Incredible powers to choose from (And they'll add more all the time.), combined with weapons and movement abilities that all do their own things, all that combines to make a unique and action filled game play experienc. But it also has, at it's heart, a GREAT story, with adventures written by some of the best writers in the business. Short and sweet, bottom line, it's a great game. As they're working out the bugs that ALL...
Great game, Collector's edition excellent quality
I've bought and played lots of MMO's and this one was amazing from the time I opened the box. The packaging was very high quality, what they added to the collector's edition was well worth the additional money. Over all the game is fun, easy to pick up, and engaging. It's well worth the investment. The only think I would caution about is to make sure you got everything in the box that was supposed to be included. The collector's edition is supposed to come with a buddy key inside the packaging and mine did not. Not critical, but it is disappointing when you'd like to get one of your friends involved. Apparently this is not an uncommon issue with purchases from Amazon if the Sony Online Forums are to be believed.

I accord with you about the distinction of the Hasbro figures - it’s clearly lacking. But I caved a while back and bought the Avengers figures they came out with, even though they’re more cartoonish than Toybiz’s. I dare say I want to be as pure as tenable. But Ares as a BAF might trade - he is a god, and if it’s not too big then a shed weight larger design could be agreeable.
