DC Universe Classics: Series 10: Batman is accompanied by one of the pieces required to assemble the Build-A-Figure Imperiex. This version of Batman is clad in his sleek black uniform, complete with gold utility belt and molded plastic cape. Batman is a noted detective and strategist, and is among the most capable physical combatants on the planet. In addition to defending Gotham City against the depraved likes of Two-Face, Batman also faces imported threats such as Lex Luthor, in the course of which he is sometimes assisted by Catwoman and fellow Justice League member Superman.

DC Universe Classics: Back to Black - the Movie Batman
Yes, it's Batman, again. This Wave 10 sculpting should look pretty familiar by now, as Mattel's DC Universe Classics has used it before for previous incarnations of the legendary Dark Knight. Since it is an excellent basic sculpting of Batman's flawless physique, I see Mattel's point - why fix it if it isn't broken?

This time, Batman appears in an all-black version (with yellow trim) as a tribute clearly to the blockbuster 1989 movie starring Michael Keaton as Gotham City's caped crusader. For that reason alone, this figure is a must for Batman collectors, since finding high quality action figures representing Keaton's two bat-flicks is next to impossible. Suffice to say, the figure has decent articulation points for posing and holds up relatively well for kids at play time. I will note, as usual, the elbow joints are probably the figure's primary weak spot if a child is too aggressive bending and twisting him around.

Included with Batman are his batarang and portable Batcave computer.

Rating: 10/10 - Until Mattel and/or DC Direct acquire the rights for a movie-realistic version, this one is likely going to be the definitive figure celebrating Michael Keaton's unforgettable depiction of the Dark Knight.

P.S. An excellent companion figure for this Batman would the same wave's Joker.

New Blue Beetle looks good but doesn't feel good: a collector's prerogative.
New Blue Beetle is a fantastic exercise in well executed design and tooling. Paint quality is superb (finally!) and the character's segmented "arthropod" motif is beautifully realized through the work of the Four Horsemen design team. The figure is outfitted with a carry over feature that Toy Biz's seminal Marvel Legends line made popular which is the double jointed limbs. While this opened up the possibility for greater poseability, it sadly is not the case. The joint discs are incredibly flimsy and are more prone to warpage. A few other articulation limitations in the hips prevents the figure from being put into more extreme "Spider-man" like poses (BB being a fellow bug after all). If you are able to achieve these poses, the figure's less than sturdy legs and limited ankle movement prevents it from staying upright for very long.
I wanted to love this figure (well I love the design at least) but sadly it falls short of being a real prize. And with the [...] price tag, you may feel a bit ripped off. Definitely only buy if you are a hardcore DC fan.
Beetle!
DC Universe Classics Blue Beetle (III). We got Ted Kord and now Jamie Reyes. The newest Blue Beetle may have seemed a hard sell at first (low rent Batman to techno-super kid?) but Jamie Reyes's good natured self (almost Spider-Man like) and appearances in cartoons make him a lovable hero. Add to that the fantasy of being a kid with amazing abilities and he's a winner.

For Kids:
Did I not mention he's been in several episodes of Batman the Brave and the Bold? And in comics? And is a kid with extraordinary powers? How about, this is just a great toy and unique. Plus, like most DCUC he's durable too. If your kids don't love him send me a comment and I'll let you know where to mail the figure. :-)

For Adults:
Sculpt is very detailed. His expression is a bit "turned down". I might have liked to see a more happy go lucky type, considering his character, but this is him in battle mode I suppose with turned down mouth. There is a lot of detail to him with the designs of his armor sculpted in rather than just painted on. The carapace on his back has detail making it look beetle like. And the there is scalloping on his lower torso, upper legs and upper arms. The legs of the beetle reach around his body and antenna stick up. All very top notch. The wings are tall and nice and the arm blade has plenty of detail too.

The paint is cool and clean with blue on black and yellow eyes. All the details are clean and neat. The blue appears slightly metallic.

He's very well articulated being something of a unique body. He's got the typical ball neck and shoulders but has double pin elbows and ball type hands. He's got the ab crunch and cut waist, the universal hips, cut thighs then the bonus double pin knees and lastly pin ankles. Very nice and the double elbows and knees are unique in this line.

He has his big clear blue wings that look really great. They are removable but this does leave three big holes in his back which looks a little odd. Still great for varied looks though. He has an arm blade which is soft rubber. It fits on his forearm and while I can see that some may have trouble getting it to stay I have not had issues. Alternatively you can place on his upper arm if you want to. And lastly he has his piece of Trigon.

All in all he's cool looking, is a fun character with recognition factor, has great articulation and 2 to 3 accessories (depending if you care about Trigon). He's my favorite in this wave.

Trigon is an interdimensional demon who destroyed a planet at age six. That was some party! I'm not too familiar with the guy but he does make a cool collect and connect figure. At a little over 9" he's pretty impressive with lots of detail in his face - and what a face! Dirty blonde hair, antlers, four eyes (and not in the nerdy way) and a roaring mouth. He's red wearing white which kind of makes for an eye popping contrast. There isn't anything particularly impressive about his body other than being big but there is good detail in his bracelets, hands and belt. The coolest thing though is he comes with two accessories of his own. His white dragon topped staff which is about the same height as him and his white cape. The collar of the cape is done up in skeletal detail and it looks great. And the cape has wire along the outside edges - a feature you usually find in higher end collectables that allows you to "pose" the cape as well. I call it an accessory as it comes separate and is removable as it fits into a hole in his back via a soft rubber peg. All decked out this guy looks really good.
Blue Beetle Review
Got this figure to add to my dcuc figure collection, i bought the figure assuming it would be the standard dcuc Figure, boy was i wrong. This figure comes with 2 accessories, His Wings (witch are removable) and his Arm Blade (also Removable). In Addition to that it is the first dcuc figure to feature double jointed elbows, knees, and ball jointed hands. The Paints Apps Are GREAT. He Comes with the Button as most modern dcuc figures do, but his is of a different Blue Beetle, Ted Kord To Be Exact. Not a Huge Deal. The Figure Is Super Detailed, there isn't a single spot on him that doesn't have details. all In Alla Great Figure, Definitely The Best DCUC figure to be released.

DC Universe Classics Imperiex Series Wave 10 Figure 4 Power Girl...

Toy from hasbro
We have been able to locate a small supply of these exclusive figures for our International and other customers. DC Universe Classics: Series 10: Power Girl is accompanied by one of the pieces required to assemble the Build-A-Figure Imperiex. Power Girl is clad in her classic white costume, complete with blue gloves, cuffed boots, and red thigh-length cape. An Earth-Two Supergirl counterpart, Power Girl is a member of the Justice Society of America. Power Girl was spared the destruction of Krypton, although her journey to Earth was much more gradual than that of her cousin, Superman, with whom Power-Girl occupies a bracket of powers including the likes of super strength, super speed, X-ray vision, heat vision and flight capability.

One Powerful Girl
Kara Zor-L A/K/A Power Girl is one of a handful of survivors from the past DC Universe and cousin to that universes' (multi-verses' ?) Earth 2 Superman, Kal-L (our current Superman is Kal-El). That makes her quite an interesting character in that she's essentially Supergirl... but she's not. While her powers have changed from time to time she basically has the Super-family powers you'd expect.

For Kids:
This figure is pretty nice, and well articulated so perfect for play. Now female figures are not too popular with little boys and little girls typically don't go for action figures but if you have a kid familiar with the character they'd probably have fun with this.

For Adults:
The DC Universe Classics line has broken a long time trend for female figures in this vein in that they are not butt ugly (a common problem with Marvel Legends both Toy Biz and Hasbro - just look at the White Queen figure *shiver*). Power Girl has a very pleasant face sculpted with soft lines and an almost mischievous look to her expression. There's a lot of detail in her short hair as well. Her arms and legs are the typical with hands in a fisted pose. There's a good amount of detail in her boots and she wears a short cape that appears to blow slightly in the breeze. And the part the guys have all be waiting for... Yes, her chest is sculpted appropriately voluptuous, BUT, it is not overdone. I think they did a great job of being true to the character's look without being silly about it.

Paint is clean and neat for the most part. The skin tones look good and she even has a small amount of blush to her cheeks. Her hair is blonde with a little black in there to bring out the details. Her white outfit is clean as are her blue boots and gloves. I did see some in the store with chips on the face or costume and there is one small dot on my otherwise flawless costume so I'd watch out if you buy in person but overall the paint is above average for a mass market toy.

There are lots of good articulation points. The head appears as if it may be a ball type joint but I can only get mine to turn side to side and don't want to push it as the pin seems thin. Other joints are: ball shoulders, pin elbows and cut (rotate-able) wrists, a rocking joint in the torso and cut waist, ball hips, cut thighs, pin knees, cut shins (well at the top of the boots) and pin ankles. If I'm counting right that's 19 joints. I'm a big articulation buff but I will say in this case that they could loose the cut thigh joint. They do not add much since the shins rotate too and are the only joints that really are obtrusive to the sculpt.

No accessories other than one leg of Imperiex. To be fair she doesn't use any weapons or anything so I'm not sure what could have been included.

So a great figure, fine for play if your kid is interested, but with enough quality that it's great for collectors as well. The thigh cuts don't add much and hurt the look a bit and if you can you need to watch the paint to be sure you get the cleanest one but I'd give her 4 ½. So to acknowledge there was *slight* room for improvement I'll rate a 4.

Imperiex is a pretty cool collect and connect (CC) figure. His is black and red armor and cape with lots of gold highlights and every surface is sculpted. It's really colorful while being imposing at the same time. His face is skeletal with exposed teeth and menacing red eyes in taught wrinkled skin. But he has two issues. One, his head pops into the neck on a really long peg that just drops down into his body so his head just kind of floats, what I mean is there is no tightness to the joint at all so it's like a bobble head if you move him around. A really weird choice - he looks fine standing still but you have to finagle the head around to get it just right. Second is his size. You see Imperiex is supposed to be a planetary threat and huge in size but you wouldn't know it from this nine inch figure. Yeah, I know the days of Galactus and Sentinel 14 to 16 inch figures are behind us (for now) but this guy looks like maybe some Fourth World warrior or something not the living embodiment of entropy. Even with all that he's still a four star figure though if only for the amount of detail they packed into him.
