DC Universe JOKER wave 10 imperiex series walmart exclusive

Toy from hasbro
Clad in his garishly-colored, trademark purple suit, equipped with his Joker cane and green mallet accessories, this version of the Joker somewhat resembles his Super Powers predecessor. Often obsessed with the downfall of his arch-nemesis, Batman, the Joker enjoys terrorizing Gotham City with sadistically-themed criminal capers. Always appreciative of a good joke, he frequently attacks his adversaries with the likes of acid-squirting flowers or his lethal Joker venom.

This Is No Joke!
I'm not even going to insult anyone by trying to describe the Joker. The Crown Prince of Crime is Batman's most famous foe and is a mystery wrapped in an enigma and swallowed by an insane sociopath and we like him that way.

For Kids:
It's the Joker! He's been covered in comics, cartoons, TV shows and blockbuster movies. He's a Batman villain. He's well made and comes with great accessories. If your kid doesn't like this then send him or her to their room and keep it yourself. :-)

For Adults:
I suppose the Four Horsemen (the sculptors) 1) knew they had to knock it out of the park and 2) have a great love for this character because they did indeed knock it out of the park. His manically grinning face with sculpted lips and teeth both delights and terrifies (OK maybe I'm being a touch melodramatic for effect but...) with his swept back hair and laughingly scary face. His suit is done very well with a rubber coat and sculpted waistcoat (much like I wished they had done on the Question [DC Universe CHLD DCU FAN'S CHOICE]). The coat tails look great. His pants are standard but well made and he wears some dapper dress shoes. Some fine details are in the flower pinned to his chest and his bolo tie.

White face and teeth, red lips, green hair all very nice and no slop. His tie is dark and his flower yellow. The jacket and pants are purple and the pants have amazingly clean black pin stripes that look really good. His waist coat is an orangey / yellow and he had a green undershirt. The black and white shoes top (or bottom) him off. This is really top notch work and nice and colorful.

They've managed to keep all the usual articulation without it being hindered by any of the sculpt or outfit. Ball neck, ball shoulders with cut bicep, pin elbows and cut wrists. There is the ab crunch and cut waist, fully moveable hips, pin knees and ankles.

He comes with his piece of Imperiex and so much more! This line isn't really known for heaping on the accessories but they did it up for the Joker (who is THE MAN after all). He gets some fanned out cards that look fine. Next he has a smiling, red lipped, creepy Joker Fish. This looks great and he looks funny holding it. Third he gets a black cane topped by a really nicely sculpted golden Joker head. They put a lot of detail there. Lastly, and my favorite, he has a green wooden mallet with "J" inscribed in each side of the head. But best of all, look at the mallet from the bottom of the handle and you'll see the handle is actually a nose - nostrils and all - and a grinning Joker face is sculpted into the bottom of the mallet head. Just... classic! These are some really nice accessories, I just wish he could hold all four!

They really went above and beyond with this guy in every respect. As if the figure itself wasn't cool enough they then went overboard on the accessories as well. Let me just go ahead and slap a 5 star rating out there... Ah, there we go. HA HA HAAA!

Imperiex is a pretty cool collect and connect (CC) figure. His is black and red armor and cape with lots of gold highlights and every surface is sculpted. It's really colorful while being imposing at the same time. His face is skeletal with exposed teeth and menacing red eyes in taught wrinkled skin. But he has two issues. One, his head pops into the neck on a really long peg that just drops down into his body so his head just kind of floats, what I mean is there is no tightness to the joint at all so it's like a bobble head if you move him around. A really weird choice - he looks fine standing still but you have to finagle the head around to get it just right. Second is his size. You see Imperiex is supposed to be a planetary threat and huge in size but you wouldn't know it from this nine inch figure. Yeah, I know the days of Galactus and Sentinel 14 to 16 inch figures are behind us (for now) but this guy looks like maybe some Fourth World warrior or something not the living embodiment of entropy. Even with all that he's still a four star figure though if only for the amount of detail they packed into him.

Bludhaven's Knight
When I first realized there was more than one Robin, and that Nightwing even existed, I instantly made him my favorite hero. This figure does him justice with a great head mold, and a fantastic paint job. The figure has thirteen articulation points, and comes with two metal (plastic, not actually metal) rod weapons. The paint on the body is standard, but elegant. However, the real prize is the head. They put a little bit of blue detailing in his black hair, which sounds strange, but really gives him a believable look somehow. One of the downsides to the figure are the metal rods. They look good, but one of them is slightly too small and can fall out of his hand easily. Also the weapon storage on his back looks kind of odd. Overall, I give this figure a 9.5 out of 10 and think that it is a must-have for any DC fan.

Reviews

New Blue Beetle looks good but doesn't feel good: a collector's prerogative.
New Blue Beetle is a fantastic exercise in well executed design and tooling. Paint quality is superb (finally!) and the character's segmented "arthropod" motif is beautifully realized through the work of the Four Horsemen design team. The figure is outfitted with a carry over feature that Toy Biz's seminal Marvel Legends line made popular which is the double jointed limbs. While this opened up the possibility for greater poseability, it sadly is not the case. The joint discs are incredibly flimsy and are more prone to warpage. A few other articulation limitations in the hips prevents the figure from being put into more extreme "Spider-man" like poses (BB being a fellow bug after all). If you are able to achieve these poses, the figure's less than sturdy legs and limited ankle movement prevents it from staying upright for very long.
I wanted to love this figure (well I love the design at least) but sadly it falls short of being a real prize. And with the [...] price tag, you may feel a bit ripped off. Definitely only buy if you are a hardcore DC fan.
Beetle!
DC Universe Classics Blue Beetle (III). We got Ted Kord and now Jamie Reyes. The newest Blue Beetle may have seemed a hard sell at first (low rent Batman to techno-super kid?) but Jamie Reyes's good natured self (almost Spider-Man like) and appearances in cartoons make him a lovable hero. Add to that the fantasy of being a kid with amazing abilities and he's a winner.

For Kids:
Did I not mention he's been in several episodes of Batman the Brave and the Bold? And in comics? And is a kid with extraordinary powers? How about, this is just a great toy and unique. Plus, like most DCUC he's durable too. If your kids don't love him send me a comment and I'll let you know where to mail the figure. :-)

For Adults:
Sculpt is very detailed. His expression is a bit "turned down". I might have liked to see a more happy go lucky type, considering his character, but this is him in battle mode I suppose with turned down mouth. There is a lot of detail to him with the designs of his armor sculpted in rather than just painted on. The carapace on his back has detail making it look beetle like. And the there is scalloping on his lower torso, upper legs and upper arms. The legs of the beetle reach around his body and antenna stick up. All very top notch. The wings are tall and nice and the arm blade has plenty of detail too.

The paint is cool and clean with blue on black and yellow eyes. All the details are clean and neat. The blue appears slightly metallic.

He's very well articulated being something of a unique body. He's got the typical ball neck and shoulders but has double pin elbows and ball type hands. He's got the ab crunch and cut waist, the universal hips, cut thighs then the bonus double pin knees and lastly pin ankles. Very nice and the double elbows and knees are unique in this line.

He has his big clear blue wings that look really great. They are removable but this does leave three big holes in his back which looks a little odd. Still great for varied looks though. He has an arm blade which is soft rubber. It fits on his forearm and while I can see that some may have trouble getting it to stay I have not had issues. Alternatively you can place on his upper arm if you want to. And lastly he has his piece of Trigon.

All in all he's cool looking, is a fun character with recognition factor, has great articulation and 2 to 3 accessories (depending if you care about Trigon). He's my favorite in this wave.

Trigon is an interdimensional demon who destroyed a planet at age six. That was some party! I'm not too familiar with the guy but he does make a cool collect and connect figure. At a little over 9" he's pretty impressive with lots of detail in his face - and what a face! Dirty blonde hair, antlers, four eyes (and not in the nerdy way) and a roaring mouth. He's red wearing white which kind of makes for an eye popping contrast. There isn't anything particularly impressive about his body other than being big but there is good detail in his bracelets, hands and belt. The coolest thing though is he comes with two accessories of his own. His white dragon topped staff which is about the same height as him and his white cape. The collar of the cape is done up in skeletal detail and it looks great. And the cape has wire along the outside edges - a feature you usually find in higher end collectables that allows you to "pose" the cape as well. I call it an accessory as it comes separate and is removable as it fits into a hole in his back via a soft rubber peg. All decked out this guy looks really good.
Blue Beetle Review
Got this figure to add to my dcuc figure collection, i bought the figure assuming it would be the standard dcuc Figure, boy was i wrong. This figure comes with 2 accessories, His Wings (witch are removable) and his Arm Blade (also Removable). In Addition to that it is the first dcuc figure to feature double jointed elbows, knees, and ball jointed hands. The Paints Apps Are GREAT. He Comes with the Button as most modern dcuc figures do, but his is of a different Blue Beetle, Ted Kord To Be Exact. Not a Huge Deal. The Figure Is Super Detailed, there isn't a single spot on him that doesn't have details. all In Alla Great Figure, Definitely The Best DCUC figure to be released.

Mega Manbat
This item is an excellent manbat figure, perhaps the best of its kind. The sculpting is superb, the articulation an 8.5 out of 10, and the overall appearance is incredible and menacing. I do wish that the lower legs could swivel or the ankles could bend a bit more, but these minute downfalls pale in comparison to the utter awesomeness of this Manbat!
Going Batty
Robert "Kirk" Langstrom develops an extract to give humans the sonar ability of bats and tests it on himself due to a developing deafness. But this is comic book land so OF COURSE he instead turns into a big crazy Man-Bat! On the up side I suppose that means the extract DID in fact give him the sonar so it did work. Sometimes when he takes the extract he can retain intelligence and be a good guy but most of the time he just goes on a rampage.

For kids:
Due to the character this DC Universe figure looks a lot different than most and it works really well. I couldn't imagine a kid (especially a little boy) who wouldn't like a big monster man-bat in the toy box. He looks monstrous, is well articulated and considering he exists in the Batman universe many kids probably know of him, from cartoons or comics. And this means he can be used to play with Batman figures. This guy is a win win for kids I would think.

For adults:
The sculpting is the standout here. From head to toe he's unique from the tips of his long bat ears to the toes on his clawed feet. His mouth is open in a shriek and there are even fine lines accentuating this. He's sculpted to give the appearance of a body covered in coarse hair and there is an extra piece on his back for the tuft of spine hair. He wears shredded pants and has clawed "bat" feet. The stand out of course is the winged arms. They are thin and long but don't feel too fragile. The large wings are tattered and sectioned to his forearms and hands/claws with a small piece on the upper arm. The overall wingspan is pretty impressive and the wings them selves are a translucent but sturdy plastic.

The skin color is brown with many highlights. In the face there is a lot of color, light and dark browns, painted teeth and mouth and red eyes. He has blue pants and the wings are translucent brown with tinges of yellow and his claws are black. Not one spot that looks out of place to me - although admittedly the wild nature of the character lends well to a little roughness. OK, there's one tiny spot of black on a wing I don't think is supposed to be there.

He's got a ball jointed neck although it can't look as far up as I'd like, ball and pin shoulders allowing the shoulder socket and the bicep to rotate, pin elbows and ball and bin wrists. All this arm articulation with the wings looks really good and dynamic and you can pull off flying poses, menacing poses and poses where he's draped his wings around him (a la Dracula). Very nice. He's got an ab crunch, cut waist, pin knees and pin "ankles". These last are situated where on a human the shin would be. He stands in an animalistic bent leg fashion.

His only "accessory" is a piece of Imperiex.

Great looking figure with an excellent sculpt and articulation that both kids and adults should love.

Like many of you, I have begun to rely increasingly on pre-orders from online retailers for my proceeding statue fix.  So when I got an email on Monday from Big Bad Toy Cache (one of the sponsors at AFP and the Fwoosh) saying that they wouldn’t be competent to honor my preorder for DC Universe Classics Wave 9 because of a Mattel shortfall in shaping, I was suitably distressed.  After all, the apex of pre-ordering was so I didn’t have to be fearful about having to attend to with the hassle of hunting them down.

If you’re in the same determine, here’s some tips you may find advantageous to find DCUC Wave 9:

Tip 1: Check into your city mirthful order warehouse. Although Diamond was reportedly shorted, a moment ago like everyone else, shipments are showing up at the LCSs.  I was timely enough to be converging NYC Fwooshers GrownNerd and Hagop09 at one of their townsman stores, Midtown Comics , tonight.  And they had *justified* put out their shipment off before we arrived.

loli asks:
