The definitive Scarecrow figure
After two years of unfounded rumors and poor marketing tactics, Mattel has finally rebooted the Dark Knight Movie Masters line with a handful of great new figures, including this Scarecrow which I came across on a total fluke at Toys R Us and at a considerably lesser cost than most of the sellers here on Amazon are advertising. Donning a slick new suit instead of the frumpy straightjacket featured on the 2008 Scarecrow figure, this is a much better representation of how he actually appears in the Dark Knight film, albeit briefly. Great attention was paid not only to the sculpting of details such as the folds and textures of the clothes, but to the paint job as well which many toy collectors should appreciate. Unfortunately, unlike the "jail cell" Joker, the Scarecrow was not given a brand new facial sculpt for 2010, and instead re-uses the exact same head as the first one. But in all honesty, I don't know how they could have improved on his look anyway, aside from maybe...

Hey I ordered this and I thought that this scarecrow wouldn't be as good as the seller described, but boy was I wrong. In fact it came two days after I ordered it and plus I think scarecrow is awesome so I say good job to the seller and thanks for great service.

good action figure with a few, tiny flaws
well, i bought this action figure because the scarecrow is my favorite batman villain. so I really don't intend to "play" with it, maybe just put it on my bookshelf. If you got it for a kid, the arms do move fairly well, but there are no knee 'joints.' (also, if you did get it for a kid, why? they might think it's a bit creepy. just saying.)overall it's a very nice action figure; it looks just like the character in the game. (this look is also really cool; it's definitely a cooler, scarier departure from the floppy-hat-and-burlap-sack outfit worn by scarecrow in the comics). the toy is durable & fun. i put a one-star on the educational value, because, well... it's not really intended to be educational.now, onto the flaws: -it comes with a bag that looks like it is supposed to be put in the toy's hands. however, the bag will not fit in the hand. -the lack of knee 'joints' i mentioned earlier -the little stand it comes with. you can put one...
Is your mind playing tricks on you... or am I?
Bought this to complete my set for series 1 of these game toys. Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum was my favorite depiction of him in the Batman universe and the toy just gets it. I would actually say that this one would stand up to a kid playing with it better than the other figures in this set. I also have some issues with getting him to stand up by himself on the stand because of the hunch but somehow got it to work and have never had to move him from my desk since (even with excessive xbox kinnect use in the background).
My Grandson loved it.
This was the only thing my Grandson wanted for Christmas and he just shook when he opened it. I was so happy Grandpa and I were able to get it for him.

Perfect Scarecrow figure with glowing eyes
The action figures from the Batman animated series are some of my favorite, Kenner took the trouble on certain models to make them look exactly like the show. This Scarecrow is one of those, it looks like it walked out of the TV. He has this feature that makes his eyes glow red, that works really good and does not need batteries. He has an accessory crow that can mount on his shoulders, and a scary sickle he can swing. The figure has a thumb wheel on his back that allows him to slash with the sickle. The color scheme is exact. Popular at comic conventions, can be hard to find still new since it is over 15 years old now, the toy was produced in 1993 for just that year. Very nice, looks great on the shelf, I got one for my display and one for my son to play with.

Climate Wake-Up Call from the IEA: Record growth in carbon emissions

A Guardian story on unpublished International Energy Agency estimates has revealed that global carbon emissions increased by a record amount last year, putting the goal of avoiding a 2 degree C rise in global average temperature almost out of reach.  If you’re unfamiliar with climate science, scientists have described the 2 degree C line as the point past which the planet will experience the most devastating impacts of climate change.  These have been excellently described by Joe Romm of Climate Progress as “Hell and High Water” : major sea level rise, droughts/”Dustbowlification”, increased precipitation and extreme weather events, rapidly accelerated species extinctions, and ocean acidification.
